Since they re-opened on the 4th, Edinburgh Castle in Ancoats haven’t been serving their Sunday Roast Dinner. What a travesty.

But, fear not – they’re back this weekend – and they’ll be returning to their pre-lockdown glory – complete with succulent meats, all the trimmings, sumptuous sides and Yorkshire puddings the size of a small car.

Edinburgh Castle have really upped their game with their roast offerings, and it’s managed to get itself a reputation in the city as one of the best that money can buy. Not an easy task when there’s so much competition, but these beauties really do shine out.

Their stand-out must surely be their Rosemary Roasted Lamb Shoulder (£16), which literally melts in your mouth and comes loaded with everything you’d expect including crispy duck fat potatoes, sweet glazed carrots, creamy buttered greens, a lovely big Yorkshire pudding and plenty of gravy.

There’s also their Slow Roasted Beef Rump Cap (£16) with horseradish cream, Cider Cured Pork Loin (£16) with a burnt apple compote and for you vegans – a Cashew Nut Roast (£16) with beetroot and golden raisin ketchup.

One of the best things about a roast at Edinburgh Castle is the desserts, and although they’re still not back up to full power – there’s a couple of naughty treats to choose from, including a selection of local cheeses from Finest friend – The Crafty Cheese Man – someone who knows more about cheese than probably anyone else in the world. Probably.

It’s going to be popular this one so you’ll need to get yourself booked in ASAP. You can do that below. Enjoy.
