Always a permanent fixture on the Finest team’s lunchtime options, especially if it was sunny outside, Slice Pizzeria on Stevenson Square seemingly just disappeared off the face of the Earth a couple of years back and I’ll be honest – we’ve missed it.
Serving up an impressive range of freshly baked Roman pizzas and foccacia, sandwiches, salads, mains and even homemade gelato every single day, each visit to Slice was like stepping into a pizzeria in Italy, complete with a fully stocked bar at the back that was one of the best places in the city to have a Campari & Soda and relax.
Apparently they were forced to close due to wranglings with their landlord, and unfortunately the site has remained empty ever since.
So instead of just sitting around twiddling his thumbs any longer, owner Matt McGuirk will be re-launching Slice in 2021 but with a NEW location – just near Oxford Road Train Station.
SO those of you (like us) who’ve been having severe withdrawal symptoms from Slice over the last couple of years – rejoice – you’ll be back eating that amazing Broccoli, Chilli and Sausage Pizza in no time.
