The good folk behind the Piccadilly and Victoria Tap bars are planning a new location.

A post to Instagram from the new Oxford Road Tap account, it simply said: “Great beer is just a few steps away…”.

The post was uploaded with a picture of the steps up to Oxford Road station from Wakefield Street in the background.

A rep for the Victoria Tap told Manchester’s Finest: “Seems like a no brainer for us to open a site at Oxford Rd.

“The station lacks good ale and a place to sup away the time before you catch the train or explore the city.”

They added that it will be the ‘same ethos as always – great beer, just where you need it’.

Already a city centre pub crawl staple, the Victoria Tap opened last October, with a solid 19 kegs beers and five casks on offer, championing beer from all around the region.

Taking up an old storage space at the station entrance, it also has a heated beer garden to the back, extending down to the tracks.

There’s no date confirmed yet, nor a location for the new bar. We’ll update you when we have more.

The same bar group, Bloomsbury Leisure, also runs the popular Euston Tap at Euston Station in London, as well as pubs in Central London and Bristol, with the Piccadilly Tap opening up on Station Approach in 2015.
