Perhaps all your family have had to start isolating, or you’ve just all decided that to go out this year will be an extra-special treat that you all deserve.
Most of the restaurants in the city and further afield are now fully booked, but we’ve managed to find a few that are still accepting bookings for that perfect last minute addition to your Christmas plans…
Christmas Dinner at Zouk
Zouk’s legendary Christmas Day feast will make its return this year, and at £35 a head, the urge to abandon the turkey and be waited on hand and foot is VERY strong! Their six-course spicy festive menu is a totally different take on the traditional British turkey dinner, with starters including Samosa Chaat and Spicy Prawn Pakoras, and mains consisting of divine homemade curries, butter chicken and Zouk’s very own roast platter, featuring chicken, lamb and beef! There is also a vegan and veggie menu available at the cheaper price of £27.50pp.
Christmas Day at Ducie Street Warehouse
The Christmas Day menu at Ducie Street Warehouse is priced at £115 per head (£40 for kids), and you’ll be welcomed with some festive punch, and a Sharing Board on arrival. You’ll then be treated to a starter, mains with all the sides – served ‘family style’, with dessert and cheese course at the end. Restaurant sitting times are from 12pm until 6pm. Book below.
Sicilian NQ
This absolute beauty of a venue in the Northern Quarter will thankfully be fully open this Christmas Day, and I can’t really think of a better place to be really. An authentic den of cocktails, pasta, arancini, platters, desserts and SO much more – all made using the very finest Sicilian ingredients. We always have outstanding food and drinks in here, and the atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming – you’ll be like one of the family almost straight away.
Salvi’s Mozzarella Bar
Salvi’s will be entertaining many this Christmas Day, but only their Mozzarella Bar in the Corn Exchange still has some availability. You can’t go wrong with the very best Italian produce and dishes – it might not be very Christmassy but who cares? Turkey is overrated anyway.
Indique
The Didsbury favourite have a few slots still available on Christmas Day – a little bit later but if you’re in the area – it’ll be perfect. The name comes from a mix of the words ‘Indian’ and ‘Unique’ and this place is certainly both. You’ll find a range of authentic classic dishes, plus some dishes that you’re unlikely to see elsewhere in the city.
Pinwei Chinese Restaurant
Just round the corner for the the Town Hall, Pinwei will be open this Christmas Day with their menu of authentic Chinese classics. It’s not exactly the kind of food you’d usually find yourself eating on Christmas Day, but my mum used to eat a curry every year and she loved it. Get a massive Chinese Banquet down you with loads of rice wine and have the most unique Christmas of your life.
