Rule number one on theatre and gigs is that you MUST eat before. A) to prevent hunger, B) to stop you getting too drunk so you don’t forget the entire experience and C) well, it’s just nice isn’t it? One problem is that the ‘Pre-Theatre’ menu seems to be dying out a bit. But that’s where Zouk comes in.
Not only is Zouk spitting distance of the Palace Theatre and Manchester Academy, two of the biggest venues for gigs/theatre, the food there is fantastic and the Pre-Theatre menu is everything you could possibly need.
You can get two delicious courses for £15.95 – like crispy prawn cakes and a Chicken Jalfrezi with rice or naan bread, or a dessert instead if you have a sweet tooth. Or, for £19.95 you can have all three courses- like Samosa Chaat, followed by Lamb Laziz and a Mumbai Mess. When you order the three-course choice Zouk will also throw in some complimentary popadoms and pickles too!
What’s not to like? Full stomach before an evening out. Oh, and you don’t have to rush before the show- Zouk’s kitchen is open until midnight, so you can even head on over after for an excited de-brief over some delicious Indian cuisine.
If you are looking for some Pre-Theatre / Pre-Gig grub- look no further and Zouk Tea Bar & Grill.
