A local neon light and sign design company has created a neon recreation of the famous Manchester worker bee symbol and is raffling it to raise money for the victims and families of the recent terror attack in Manchester.
The sign, which has been created by Neon Creations from Bolton, will be temporarily displayed in Solita’s window in the Northern Quarter, Manchester restaurant, to help Neon Creations raise as much money as possible for the cause.
For those wanting to be in with a chance of winning the iconic piece raffle tickets priced at £5 each are now on sale from any Solita restaurant or online from www.justgiving/fundraising/Neon-Creations. The raffle is open to anyone with a UK mainland address and the sign will be delivered FOC to the winner. The winner will be drawn on Monday 26th June at 12pm.
Tony Spink, director at Neon Creations, said; “It has been a tough but increasingly heart warming couple of weeks here in Manchester. From the second we heard about the horrendous attack in our city the team at Neon Creations wanted to do something to help raise money for the victims and we could think of nothing better than recreating the Manchester Bee in neon. The idea for the bee itself actually came from a friend of Corrie superfan Martyn Hett who was sadly killed in the attack.
“We’re grateful to Franco for displaying it in Solita and helping us to push the raffle. It looks fab in his window and we believe it will look really good in any home or restaurant where it will stand as a constant reminder that Manchester pulled together when it mattered.”
The acrylic case for the light was kindly donated by Floreeda Fabrications in Stockport.
