Tattu Restaurant & Bar has been named ‘Best Standalone Restaurant’ at this year’s prestigious Restaurant & Bar Design Awards, held in London on 29th September 2016.
The award was received by Tattu’s owner and managing director, Adam Jones, along with designer Edwin Pickett, who developed the design concept alongside Adam.
Adam Jones said: “We’re extremely proud to have won this prestigious award and humbled to have been chosen from a list of incredible operations by a panel of highly respected judges. Tattu was a real labour of love from the beginning and is a concept that I thoroughly believed would bring something entirely unique to the industry.
“Edwin’s implementation of the concept and our dedicated team of suppliers and contractors worked tirelessly to create a venue that captivates customers from the moment they step foot inside, whether it’s their first or fifth visit. It means a lot personally to be able to bring this title back to the north west and marks the beginning of several exciting developments for the business, one of these being our expansion into Leeds in 2017.”
John O’Ceallaigh, digital luxury travel editor for The Telegraph Media Group, said of the venue, “Such a refreshing alternative to the restaurants I encountered when I lived in Manchester. Looks glamorous, sophisticated and fun.”
Tattu opened in April 2015 in Manchester, serving contemporary Chinese cuisine in the bespoke surroundings of the two floor venue. The interior takes inspiration from body art and its rich history and invites guests on a sensory journey from East to West, delivering a unique experience unlike any other. The design influence behind Tattu came from Adam’s fascination in the growth of body art in becoming the celebrated, respected and influential art form it is today.
