Let’s start things off by wishing Pho Cue a very happy first birthday. Happy Birthday!

And WHAT a year it was for them! Launching in the non-lockdown bit of 2020, they instantly made a huge impact on the city with their modern take on traditional Vietnamese cuisine.

This was followed by a sensational review from The Observer’s food critic Jay Rayner, who proclaimed it to be “everything it should be… that helps you conclude that everything is right with the world.”

Vietnamese Tacos, Lobster, Bahn Mi and fantastic loaded Street Boxes, the menu at Pho Cue has seen many fantastic additions over the last 12 months, and this week they’ve introduced some brand-new ones, created and perfected by owner Cue and his mum and uncle in the kitchen.

We (naturally) popped down to Chinatown this week to try their new dishes and we certainly weren’t disappointed – each one was sublime. The Crispy King Prawns were outstanding, served with their very own dipping sweet and spicy sauce.

Similarly, their Garlic & Butter Crispy Wings are a winner, as are the new ‘Salt & Pepper‘ additions which are one of Pho Cue’s most popular menu items.

Expanding the range on offer, you can now pick up Salt & Pepper Squid, Chicken Bites and King Prawns, each one lightly coated in their signature batter, flash-fried and then ‘WOKKED’ with seasoning, chillies, onions and garlic.

If you’ve never been to Pho Cue, then it’s probably about time that you visited. If you have been, you’ll know what to expect and don’t really need me to tell you just how good these dishes are.

Pho Cue is open Wednesday – Monday (closed Tuesday) from 12pm – 4pm, then 5pm – 9pm.
