Shaun of the Dead
Beefeater Gin, Plymouth Sloe Gin, Grapefruit, Apple, Lemon, Passion fruit Syrup, Pimms.
This big bastard is a take on the classic Zombie cocktail – but with added British-ness (just like the film!) The rum has been replaced by Gin while the Pimms adds even more essence of Queen Victoria.
The Leap of Faith
Havana 3 Year Rum, Blue Curacao, Grapefruit, Lime, Soda.
I don’t usually trust blue drinks but this one was great – not your typical blue sugary mess – it was very fresh and nicely fruity.
Fallout Boy
Havana Especial, Midori, Passionfruit Syrup, Orgeat, Guava, Orange, Lime.
Named after the sidekick to Radioactive Man in the Simpsons (not the band), this one is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth, and the little hint of melon from the Midori adds to the freshness.
Radioactive Man
Del Maguay Vida Mezcal, Midori, Pimento Dram, Lemon, Lime, Curacao, Sugar.
A big favourite – Mezcal is fantastic and this cocktail is excellent. The smoky taste of the mezcal is perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the sugar and fruit.
Beer O Colada
Havana 3 Year, Malibu, Pineapple, Lime, Kona Big Wave
This one is a Lagerita crossed with a Pina Colada – a genius idea and the added Kona Big Wave is always going to be more than welcome.
Kentucky Dirtshake
Wild Turkey Bourbon, Cacao, Patron XO Tequila, Coco Pops Half n Half.
I was told this was flying off the shelves and if you’re a fan of anything creamy and chocolatey – this is your bag! Nice kick from the bourbon too.
Cola Bottle Old Fashioned
Wild Turkey Bourbon, Merlet Cherry, William Fox Cola Syrup, Chocolate Bitters.
A great twist on the classic Old Fashioned – cherry cola bottles were always my favourite in a 10p mix so it was always going to do down well this one.
Mellowed Manhattan
Mellow Corn Whiskey, Cocchi Americano Vermouth, Peach Cordial, Peychaud Bitters
Mellow Corn Whiskey can do no wrong in my eyes and this combo of peach and whiskey works surprisingly well.
Zombie
Five Rums, Secret Tiki Juice.
An absolute classic – strong, fruity, refreshing and with loads of fire. Perfect!
There’s a fair few more to try on the menu but I’d gone a little too far to try them all. Check the menu out below or just head into Cane & Grain any time and tuck in.
