This New Year’s Eve sees Salford’s cosy country-esque pub The Black Friar open its doors for a day of decadent dining to honour the end of 2022.

Across the evening, the bar and restaurant will welcome guests with an exclusive five-course tasting menu that features hand picked favourites curated by head chef, Ben Chaplin, as well as an á la carte daytime menu for those stopping by earlier.

From 12-2.30pm, The Black Friar will offer a refined selection of dishes from the Autumn/Winter menu, while popping the champagne and getting the party started early.

Leading into the evening, The Black Friar’s five-course feast can be enjoyed right into 2023, with tables available before 6.30pm for £55 per person or after 6.30pm for £65 per person.

Diving into the dishes, diners will get the chance to enjoy Venison Raviolo with venison pastrami, salsify and game broth, alongside Scottish Seared Scallops with fruit pigs white pudding and pink lady apple puree.

The third course is a Pan Fried Chicken Breast dish with confit leg, chargrilled celeriac and black garlic before the menu finishes on two desserts that have been a huge hit at the restaurant over the past year; a Blood Orange Sorbet with champagne granita and a 70% Chocolate and Salted Caramel Fondant with honeycomb and salted caramel ice cream.

There’s also a chance to book out spaces in the restaurant for private dining if you’re looking for a more intimate evening out. The Black Friar has three spaces available for full hire, the Winter Tavern, The Sanctuary, and The Choir’s Loft, but spaces are limited so enquire ASAP here to book for New Year.

The restaurant will be open on New Year’s Day, too, offering its Sunday service menu, with two-courses coming in at £30 per person.
