To kick start the cosiest time of the year, The Black Friar has announced the opening of its brand-new Winter Tavern, which is now taking bookings ahead of its launch on Monday 21st November.

Guests can expect a candlelit cosy retreat complete with roaring fires, rugs and furs, ready for a season filled with warmth, nostalgia and festive feasting. The Black Friar has also partnered with Highland Park 12 Whisky to provide the drinks at the new Winter Tavern.

Distilled in the Scottish Orkney Islands, historically known as the ‘Viking Kingdom’, Highland Park brings celtic charm and expertly crafted spirits to the venue. Guests will get the chance to warm up with cocktails and hot toddies on tap.

Serving as an idyllic location for Christmas parties, the Winter Tavern will serve à la carte and festive dining menus that provide plates of festive grazing, made to be enjoyed alongside a winter tipple.

Tables in the venue sit up to eight people, with a minimum booking of four. Larger groups are also welcome, but must enquire via calling the restaurant on 0161 667 9555.

From work parties to weddings, the Winter Tavern is also available for full private hire all through the winter months. The venue can accommodate up to 45 people seated on the festive menu, or guests can opt for canapés for a more casual affair.

The Winter Tavern comes complete with a full private bar, bathrooms and space for a DJ – which The Black Friar can help plan and provide entertainment for.

Since its renovation, The Black Friar has become a combination of the traditional pub and modern restaurant, where customers enjoy a pint and a unique, gastronomic experience.

It has quickly been the go-to for guests looks for innovative pub grub inside a welcoming and traditional setting.
