Cider is a drink synonymous with a 14 year old’s very first sips of alcohol sat on a swing in the local park, and if you also paired it with a sterling dual ciggy, you were a year 9 icon.

White Lightning, K Cider, HCC Cider, Frosty Jacks, you name it, I’ve drank it, along with a pack of Polos on the way home to hide my stinking breath from my ma who thought I was innocently doing my homework and eating tinned carrots.

But, if like me, you’re still partial to a pint of refreshing cider on a sunny day, you can celebrate the fermented apple drink down at GRUB across the June bank holiday weekend.

Hosting the event is Hogan’s Cider, who began their journey back in 1985. The company first started off selling cider at Stratford Farmers Market, but things have moved on from then and Hogan’s have perfected their ciders, exploring the versatility of the apple and selling their take on the beverage UK wide.

They have some amazing flavour combinations including Cherry, Raspberry and Elderflower, alongside the classic traditional Cider and a sharp, more sour take on the drink, as well as an alcohol-free version if you’re avoiding the booze!

The event will take place on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd June and the cider and perry lineup will be curated by Hogan’s, so you can be sure that there will be a range from the best producers in the UK.

You can also expect an incredible street food market full of some of the city’s best traders including, Bon Streetfood, Goodtimes Tacos, Oi Dumplings, alongside cocktails, DJs, pop up tasting tents and loads more.

Tickets are £5 and include entry to the event, access to the full range of ciders and perries including all the bars and guest taps and a branded glass to take home!
