To say that the Roast Dinner is the King of Meals is correct. That then means that the Christmas Dinner is, in fact, the King of Roast Dinners. This means that the Christmas Dinner is, actually, some sort of Emperor of Dinners – and that would, in fact, be correct also.
This week we were lucky enough to have a delivery to the Finest office, one which incorporated some serious Christmas Dinner action, plus a few extra surprises – courtesy of Stretford bar and restaurant – The Hive.
They’ve created a brand-new Christmas Menu that’s available for collection and delivery until Christmas Day (a day that they’ll also be open). There’s their standard menu at 3 courses for £24.95 and a Premium menu for £39.95.
Alongside the classic Turkey Dinner, you’ll also find more exotic fare with a splendid Moroccan Lamb Rump with sweet-cured lamb bacon, babaganoush and chermoula, and Roasted Halibut, served with a crab fritter, courgette, pear saffron emulsion.

We sampled a fantastic Country Farmhouse Terrine, with smoked streaky bacon and a spiced cider chutney, and finished off with a Chocolate & Orange Mousse with a praline and orange gel.
They’ve certainly been thinking outside the box when it comes to the dishes on offer – which, if I’m being honest, makes a refreshing change from just bashing out Turkey and Roast Potatoes all day.
