Known for decadence when it comes to drinking and dining, Spinningfields has launched a huge calendar of Christmas fun taking place across its cheerful bunch of bars and restaurants.
From Indian street food medleys and smoking cocktails, to ‘wineoke’ and festive faux fur filled teepees, Spinningfields has got it all going on this winter season. Serving as a cosy retreat to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Christmastime, here’s a list of the top things to eat, drink and do across the next month.
The Alchemist
Starting off with an obvious choice for opulent drinking and dining, The Alchemist is inviting guests in to enjoy either a two or three-course menu with a welcome festive cocktail, nibbles and a digestif shot to end the night. Famous for always going all-out with its drinks menu, the bar has launched some Christmas-themed specials including a Mulled Belini, Winter Colada and White Chocolate and Raspberry Martini to enjoy across the season.
The Ivy
With three enchanting dining offers; the Ivy Brasserie, opulent Ivy Asia and the botanical roof garden, The Ivy is gifting guests a magical setting to enjoy its vast menus of winter warming seasonal food. Offering afternoon tea, brunch, lunch and dinner, it’s serving the likes of Duck Liver Parfait, Goose and Turkey Shepherds Pie and Lobster and Prawn Cocktail, alongside a huge menu of limited edition curated cocktails in collaboration with Chivas XV Gold Whisky.
Australasia
Subterranean neighbourhood eatery, Australasia is serving coastal-inspired three and four-course menus this Christmas that feature British ingredients with a distinctive Australian twist. With dishes such as Wagyu Nigiri and Matcha Kombu Cured Salmon making the menu, alongside Miso Bakes Cod and Goose Fat Roast Potatoes it’s a great destination for alternative dining after a rummage around the Christmas markets.
The Oast House
One of Manchester’s most iconic venues for good, old fashioned festive fun, The Oast House is offering a dazzling programme of events in and around its curious teepee. Enjoy live music from local acts, festive tipples and delicious menus full of hearty dishes such as Bratwurst Hot Dogs, Yorkshire Pudding Wraps, Loaded Pies and Turkey Hanging Kebabs. With fire pits, faux fur throws, festive fairy lights and warming drinks, The Curious Teepee is one of Manchester’s most atmospheric winter venues.
Fazenda
Fazenda is transporting guests to the shores of South America this Christmas and New Year with its renowned menu of century-old gaucho traditions combined with rodizio dining. Guests can enjoy Brazilian influenced food, with the option to upgrade to silver, gold or platinum packages which include a glass of fizz or Veuve Clicquot and five Brazilian sweet treats.
20 Stories
Serving as a serene sanctuary up in the skies above the city, 20 Stories has launched a bespoke cocktail menu curated in collaboration with Ciroc vodka. For Christmas Day, the venue is also relieving all of the stress of home cooking with its five-course tasting menu, designed by the restaurant’s executive chef Daniel Scott. The dishes combine seasonal ingredients and locally sourced produce and can be joined by three wine pairings, carefully curated by head sommelier Andreas Rosendal.
Comptoir Libanais
With a mix of Middle Eastern and Lebanese cuisine, Comptoir Libanais offers an all-day dining experience full of healthy, fresh and honest food. The laid-back setting makes for authentic feasting, and the festive menu offers diners two-courses and mint tea for £28.95 and three-courses and tea for £34.95. Stand-out dishes include the Mixed Grill with lamb kofta, chicken kofta and chicken taouk, as well as the Seabass Sayadiyah and Vanilla and Mango Cheesecake.
Tattu
Tattu has launched a stunning winter campaign, ‘The Great Snow’ where guests can experience the wonder of Aurora Borealis dancing across the restaurant whilst dining under the frozen cherry blossom. The restaurant has created a special cocktail for Christmas that’s a blend of Grey Goose vodka, white chocolate and sparkling cherry. The desserts follow suit, with the restaurant’s signature Cherry Blossom snow-topped with icy blue candyfloss plus a new Mount Heng Flambe, an indulgent baked Alaska with marashino cherry, coconut, hazelnuts and meringue structured to resemble China’s Mount Heng.
Sakku Samba
Sakku Samba is offering an all-you-can-eat buffet of elegant excess, with an endless selection of dishes including nigiri, gyoza, sashimi, picanha, carneiro and much more. Alongside this, diners can also enjoy the restaurant’s A La Carte menu of Brazilian/Japanese fusion food, which centres on traditional grill dishes, noodles and more.
The Lawn Club
The Lawn Club has reinvented itself as a winter wonderland this season, complete with a brand new fairy-light adorned pergola for walk-in guests, as well as festive pods that have been upgraded with cosy blankets. A welcoming social spot, located in the heart of Spinningfields, guests can also enjoy an all-day food and drinks menu which offers something for everyone, from antipasti boards and burgers, to craft beers and cocktails – perfect for lunchtime meetings, mate dates, and after work drinks.
Provence Wine
Nothing says Christmas more than a wineoke session with bottomless bottles, right? Provence Wine is offering this for group bookings with the option to add on entertainment, games and wine tastings hosted by an in-house wine aficionado. The wine bar and coffee house caters for every occasion and guests can select from a menu categorised by ‘wine occasions’, as well as a menu of light bites and nibbles.
Scene Indian Street Kitchen
Taking customers on a journey through the flavour filled streets of India, Pakistan and South Asia, Scene Indian Street Kitchen offers diners authentic street food. The tranquil riverside terrace overlooks the River Irwell, offering visitors an excellent option for enjoying food al fresco, the traditional way. The outdoor heated garden veranda caters for those wanting to relax and unwind with some drinks and shisha while dining on some authentic street food.
Thaikhun
If turkey with all the trimmings isn’t quite up your street, Thaikhun kicks off its own Christmas party with a fantastically affordable set menu and a range of festive cocktails to wash it down. Beginning at just £17.50pp, the tinsel-strewn Thai feast promises dishes guaranteed to please the fussiest of eaters, complete with curries, noodle dishes, sharing platters and more.
