The Open Kitchen Cafe & Bar at The People’s History Museum will be hosting the first of their fermentation events on Thursday 9th June, delving into the wonders of fermentation, demystifying and understanding why we should all be fermenting.

The event will kick off with a welcome drink, followed by a hands-on fermentation masterclass by Jules from The Plucky Pickle – teaching you how to make a seasonal fermented salsa and hot sauce to take home with you, and leaving you bubbling with inspiration to ferment more.

The evening will end with a feast that has fermented food at its heart, partnered with dishes from the amazing chefs at Open Kitchen. Open Kitchen is a social enterprise, working with a range of food businesses to stop food from being wasted, turning the food into nutritious, seasonal menus, whilst campaigning for a sustainable, fair and inclusive food future.

All Open Kitchen’s proceeds from this event will go towards supporting access to nutritious food to communities across Greater Manchester suffering from food insecurity.
