The Northern Quarter’s coolest and most Japanese haunt, Cottonopolis will be offering a set menu this Mother’s Day for only £20 per person. There’s some crackers on the menu including Salmon Maki, a Wagyu Roast Dinner and even a Coconut Panacotta. I’ve basically just picked what I’d have to be honest, but there’s plenty more on the menu should you have different (and more refined) tastes. Check the menu and book below.

Free Cocktail & Tapas Offer at El Capo
Mexican’s love their mums. Even El Chapo, that proper dodgy drug cartel geezer, loved his mum so much that he bought her a massive mansion and a gold kitchen with all of his dirty money. At least that’s what I heard. Also keen to reward mums, but in a much nicer way, are NQ Mexican cantina El Capo who are offering a free cocktail or dessert for all mums who dine between the 11th and 13th March. Not only this, but they’re offering 3 Tapas dishes for only £14. Just make sure you book in advance.

A Brilliant Sunday Roast at One88
One88 in Whitefield are offering a special Mother’s Day menu, and because it’s a Sunday, it mostly revolves around juicy meat, crispy roast potatoes, huge Yorkshire puds and lashings of rich gravy. I suppose it’s usually your poor old mum who has to make all of this on a typical Sunday, so give the moaning old bugger a rest this week and let One88 sort it all out. I had a roast dinner here once and it was a belter, the lamb was so good I found myself wandering the moors at night, just searching for more. I should have just headed back here.

For £25 you can choose a brunch menu item and then get unlimited drinks for the next 2 hours. There’s loads of drinks to choose from including Bloody Mary’s and Beers but you’re going to want to have Prosecco, aren’t you?

But the thing is that is all the way in June, and I am sure you cannot wait that long to enjoy one of their phenomenal roast dinners. Enjoy two delicious courses either side a sharing roast dinner for £23 each and they will throw in a glass of fizz, flowers AND chocolates for mother dearest. Complimentary Prosecco & Live Music at Don Giovanni
Being a mum in Italy is akin to being a god. Your precious children will dote upon your every whim, allow you to cook every meal for them and give you the opportunity to lick your handkerchief and clean their faces anytime they’re out in public. The only thing they expect in return is somewhere to live until they’re either 46 or married, or both. If you take your mum for an Italian at Don Giovanni this Mother’s Day though, she’ll be in for a proper treat; with live music, complimentary Prosecco and even a nice lovely gift to keep her sweet. Couple this with Don Gio’s fantastic Italian dishes and you’re onto a winner.

Get Banged Up at Breakout
I honestly couldn’t think of anything worse than being locked up in a room with my mum on Mother’s Day, us both having to use our brain power and cunning to get out as fast as possible. Not only would this instantly cause stress and an argument, there would definitely be a visit to A&E for one or both of us once we managed to get out. Most people would relish this chance to be a team though, which is why something like Breakout is perfect. They’re offering special Gift Vouchers this Mother’s Day so if you’re struggling for ideas – give them a go.

Free Bellinis at Turtle Bay
Everyone’s favourite Caribbean bar and restaurant will be offering up free Bellini cocktails from Sunday 4th March until Sunday 11th March for any mums who dine in the Oldham Street or Oxford Road locations. May I also suggest a few Tingwray’s on top of that free cocktail too – mostly because they will loosen your mum’s lips enough for her to start telling you loads of juicy gossip and start slagging off your dad.

Not only this but there’s also FREE kids bowling all day, as long as the ‘kids’ aren’t 28 years old of course. Afternoon Tea at Cloud 23
Although it’s not officially the highest restaurant in the city now, Cloud 23 still benefits from having a fantastic view of the city and is perfect for cocktails and afternoon tea. Your dearest mother will be as happy as Larry as she tucks into a tea comprising of savoury delights, as well as some cracking cakes, scones and even a bit of trifle. Included in the £35 per person price is a glass of champagne and “a gift for the mother”. I’m going to presume that you shouldn’t expect too much from the gift and you should still get your mum some flowers from the Texaco garage on the way to picking her up.

Free Mumbai Mess at Zouk
Every mum loves a dessert. Whether it’s a massive bowl of trifle, a tin of Fruit Cocktail with condensed milk or just a big tub of Ben & Jerry’s while watching Downton Abbey. You’re in luck then because a visit to Zouk on Mother’s Day will produce a free Mumbai Mess dessert for mum, whether you’ve booked for brunch, lunch or dinner.
