The humble Mac & Cheese is so versatile that it’s managed to spawn restaurants that ONLY serve the stuff – adding all manner of weird and wonderful ingredients to give it a bit of a kick.
Personally, I’ll always add some blue cheese and mustard to my mac & cheese, but the truth is that I never actually really ever have it – it’s always near the bottom of my list of things to eat and I very rarely crave it.
But when I DO have it, I always thoroughly enjoy myself, and sitting down with the Beef Brisket Mac & Cheese (£6) at Cane & Grain was no different. It’s made with their own signature 3 cheese sauce and stuffed with ample chunks of tender beef brisket straight from their smoker.
Finally, the whole thing is topped off with some sharp cheddar and melted – giving you that all important crispy top. Simple yet VERY tasty and VERY effective.
Perfect alongside some of Cane & Grain’s fantastic chunks of meat, I’d suggest you get a couple of St Louis Ribs, cake them in the Memphis Mop sauce and devour. A pint of Big Wave on the side won’t go amiss either!
