Combining seasonal, delicious and authentic flavours, WOOD has been able to maintain its offer of the standard tasting menu with 50% off food on Wednesdays, enabling more people to access the WOOD dining experience at a more affordable price point.
With Winter approaching and the rising cost of living affecting both customers and business owners, WOOD has continued to receive requests to extend its popular dinings offer, therefore announcing that the 50% offer will now run every Wednesday from now until the end of 2022, with the exception of Wednesday 7th and 14th December.
The menu is a spectacular seven-course journey through outstanding British produce and a flair for creativity that sees chef Simon Wood pay homage to his Manchester roots.
Some Beef, It’s Bones and Whey Soured Onion harks back to Simon’s childhood growing up in Oldham, tucking into bread and dripping. Developed over the course of many months, the dish consists of several elements, including a “rich cut of British Beef… with a texture like butter“, sat atop bone marrow-fried bread, topped with bone marrow, cured ox heart and tongue and served in a dish of liquid bone marrow seasoned with beef sauce and chive oil.
The dish also features Simon’s take on the traditional Rag Pudding, an Oldham delicacy that consists of minced meat and onions wrapped in suet pastry.
Other dishes on the tasting menu include Owd Yonner and Onions, Hen’s Egg with Truffled Chips and Ham, The Best Bit of Chicken and Exton Rose Strawberry, Marigold and Cereal Milk.
Simon, in describing his Tasting Menu explains: “The finest suppliers in the country provide seasonal, high welfare, foraged exceptional produce, which will be treated with the utmost respect. Salt, milk, butter, vinegars, wines, oils, herbs and spices must be of the highest quality throughout the restaurant.”
WOOD also offer up Seasonal (£60) and Classic (£90) Wine Flights which can be added on the day to pair with the Tasting Menu.
