In recent years, it seems that people in the UK have grown tired of their standard brunch offerings and we are looking further than poached eggs and smashed avocado when it comes to making our choices.

Luckily for us here in Manchester, restaurants are changing their ways and getting creative with what they are serving for brunch. One of my favourites already is Zouk with their Indian approach to traditional breakfast foods.

Dishes teeter on the edge of traditional and modern with things like the Bombay baked eggs, spiced keema & anda bhurji and the massive Maharajas breakfast stacked with scrambled or fried eggs served with seekh kebab, turkey rasher, spicy tomatoes, mushrooms, spicy baked beans and kulcha.

But now Zouk has taken it a step further and are about to launch their mezze breakfast which is designed to be shared with all your favourite people.

The feast begins with a portion of spiced baked beans, Bombay potatoes and Indian-style mushrooms. You also receive two baked eggs which are spiked with a range of aromatic spices and served with a side of deliciously crispy kulcha bread.

You then get to choose 5 items from a list to make your mezze brunch unique. Start with some lovely breads with a selection of jams or honey and cream. Alternately, you could enjoy this with some traditional cheeses which is great paired with some veggies like cucumber, tomato and avocado. Olives and crispy hash browns are a must also.

Sujuk sausages are a must when it comes to this mezze brunch. If you haven’t had these before, these are beef sausages which are heavily spiced which are perfect to eat at breakfast time. These sausages are made even better with a little spicy cemen paste on the side.

Sticking with the savoury stuff, you can also order some delicious halloumi and perhaps the delightful sran borek which are cigars made of filo pastry filled with feta cheese before being deep friend – naughty but oh-so-nice. They go perfectly with the salty-sweet and nutty tahini with molasses for a bit of dipping.

This feast will cost you just £10 per person which includes a drink to wash it all down. Honestly, I’ve tried it and I reckon this is going to be a serious hit. This mezze brunch is perfect for big groups and will make a cracking start to your day every damn time.

Mezze Brunch launches Sunday 24th February and will be available between Wednesday-Friday 8am-12pm and weekends 9am-1pm. Book your place now using the button below, you are going to love it!
