Adam Buxton presents BUG – The evolution of the Music Video
Adam Buxton, one half of Adam & Joe (Channel 4, BBC 6 music) has been entertaining us with his general silliness for over a decade. A smash in recent years on Saturday morning with Joe Cornish. Adam has been off our screens and in, ‘TV jail’, as he puts it for some years now. He is however finally touring, ‘BUG’, his bimonthly round up of the latest interesting, brilliant, strange and otherwise noteworthy music videos from around the internet. Mixed with the you tube community’s comments sections on these videos (a highlight), a song and a dance or two and all the fun and craziness you’d expect from Dr Buckles himself.
In his own words:
“I suppose where BUG differs from Antenna and other music video or short film showcases there have been is my contribution. I add bits and pieces of my own stuff from my laptop in between the music vids that might take the form of a song or a video I’ve made or might just be a selection of comments that You Tubers have left beneath a video. I tell people that BUG is like going round to a friend’s house and having him open up his laptop and show you interesting and amusing things he’s found or made, except not as tedious and shit as that sounds. Also it’s on a big screen with a room full of people which makes it more of an experience than just being alone in front of your computer at 1 in the morning (though that can be an experience too of course…)”

We thoroughly enjoyed our night out to see Adam Buxton last night at the Hyde Park Picture house in Leeds. He is in Manchester at the Zion Arts Centre, Hulme next Wednesday, October 26th with a whole new set of gobsmacking music videos, virals and much more besides.
Tickets are available for £15 per booking fee via Ticketline, for the 6.30pm show here, and for the 8.30 show here.
