The award-trawling horror penned by League of Gentlemen co-creator Jeremy Dyson and actor/writer/magician Andy Nyman is heading out on tour, and will be arriving in Manchester to scare the living daylights out of The Lowry.
It finds an archly sceptical professor attempting to debunk the paranormal, as he investigates three reported hauntings. But he soon finds himself questioning his own rational thought – and sanity – when confronted with things he simply cannot explain.
Since its debut at the Liverpool Playhouse in 2010, every audience has been asked to keep the secrets of the play to themselves, while it has become famed for its unsuitability for those under 15 or anyone of a nervous disposition, due to ‘moments of extreme shock and tension’.
Said Nyman and Dyson: “We are beyond excited that Ghost Stories will be scaring the hell out of audiences around the country in its first ever full national tour. It’s fifteen years since we first brought screams, laughs, jumps and killer twists to the theatre and we can’t wait to do it again. Are you brave enough to book?”
It arrives at The Lowry on 24 February until 1 March, 2025. Tickets are on sale from 21 June, 2024.
