Returning to Manchester after a sold-out show back in March, Groove Verse is an improvised spoken word event that spotlights some of the hottest local talent. Headlined this June by Skittles and Griot Gabriel, the show combines wordsmiths and jazz musicians for a night of improvised collaboration.
It’s all about raw, unrehearsed creativity and aims to take spoken word from the small rooms of open mic nights to a more mainstream audience. The next event will feature a preselected line-up gracing the stage, with guest poets fighting an audience vote for a chance to headline the next show.
