It seems everyone is either a vegan or is on the cusp of becoming a vegan nowadays. In fact, I don’t think it’ll be long until my mam decides to throw away the SPAM and start tucking into a bag of carrots for her tea each night.
Veganism is on the rise and rise, mostly because many people have now realised that current meat and dairy farming practices are fucking up the Earth, as well as the clear health benefits attributed with such a diet.
As such, vegan options in both restaurants and supermarkets has improved dramatically in a short space of time – so you no longer have to just stick with a bag of carrots for your tea each night.
This Saturday 6th April sees the Northern Vegan Festival come to Manchester, with over 130 fantastic stalls, world food caterers, exciting cookery demos, inspirational talks, interactive workshops, yoga and children’s activities running throughout the day from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
Taking place at the Man Utd footy ground, the day will be packed with a host of workshops and talks, with titles such as: ‘A Beginner’s Guide to Yogic Meditation‘, ‘Natural Nutrition; thriving on a vegan diet!‘ and my favourite; ‘Dairy, Beef and Bullshit‘.
A must for any vegans or potential vegans, the event is 100% voluntarily run and entry is £4 with 100% of the ticket money going to animal welfare charities.
