‘Don’t sit still. Keep going.’ (David Sedgwick and Tim Denton)
David Sedgwick (designer) and Tim Denton (maker) have come together to create an exhibition of work which asks the question, ‘What is the secret to a long and happy life?’ collaborating with a community group of older Mancunians, called Chorlton Good Neighbours. Dave and Tim have used the group’s interesting and honest answers to produce a series of typographic rubber stamps and hand held wooden devices which people can use in the gallery to make their own postcards to be sent to those they think may benefit from the pearls of wisdom imparted to us by the older generation.

Save Yourself (Helen Musselwhite and Loz Ives)
Paper artist Helen Musselwhite and designer and maker Loz Ives (Fieldwork) ask:
‘Have you broken your heart or lost an eye? Perhaps just a fingertip?’ Have no fear we have replacements to aid your longevity. The pair have created different organs and appendages out of paper and other materials, playing on the idea of longevity in our lives and what it might be like if you could replace old with new.

The festival
Design Manchester, is an originative two-day festival, celebrating creativity, collaboration and inclusivity in the worlds of art, design, illustration, animation and photography.
