Pioneers of VHS finds are childhood friends Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher who have spent the last 25 years picking up random, very odd tapes to showcase in their show – The Found Footage Festival.
Tuesday 28th August sees the pair descend upon The Patron with all of their tapes to show you some seriously weird and confusing shit.
They’ll take audiences on a guided tour of their latest and greatest VHS finds, providing live commentary and where-are-they-now updates on the people in these videotaped obscurities.
Highlights of the new show include:
- A home movie documenting a debaucherous holiday weekend in rural Michigan
- A New Age exercise video demonstrating a process called “testicle breathing”
- The “sexy” hype video for a 1980’s pro wrestling duo called The Fabulous Ones
- Behind-the-scenes footage from a fishing-themed calendar called Women In Waders
The Found Footage Festival debuted its first show in New York City in 2004 and has gone on to sell out hundreds of shows each year across the U.S. and Canada.
The fest has been featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and National Public Radio and has been named a critics’ pick in dozens of publications, including The New York Times.
