Daytona Manchester, the North West’s premier indoor karting venue, has been specially chosen to host the initial stages of the Red Bull Kart Fight – an exhilarating national competition from the current kings of Formula 1.
Red Bull is searching for the top amateur karting talent in the UK, with the cream of the crop set to compete for the title of Red Bull Kart Fight Champion 2011 on a custom designed high-octane street circuit at the Red Bull Speed Jam in Cardiff on 3rd September.
To qualify, competitors must put pedal to the metal to clock the fastest average lap time across three sessions (times must be set before 25th July) before battling the best of the rest at one of three regional showdowns to claim a coveted place on the final starting grid.
For taking the karting crown, a VIP trip to Red Bull Racing’s high-tech HQ in Milton Keynes is in store before being whisked away for some extra special treatment at an upcoming Grand Prix – one of the greatest sporting shows on Earth.
“We’re very excited about the F1 World Champions coming to the North West and are ecstatic at being chosen to help host this amazing competition,” said Nick Hughes, general manager at Daytona Manchester.
“As any karting enthusiast will tell you, custom street circuits with big crowds are what everybody dreams of racing around.
“And to do that in front of the world’s leading motorsport organisation may just put some unknowns on the map if the right people are watching – Sebastian Vettel or Mark Webber might have to be looking over their shoulders.”
