This weekend sees a host of stars line up for a two day food and music extravaganza in Greater Manchester. As such we thought you’d want to know (especially as it’s free).

The Feeling 2013 (high res)

Kicking off on Friday 30th, and running until Saturday 31st August 2013, Rochdale Feel Good Festival is back for its sixth instalment, and this year’s offering looks bigger and better than ever. So that would be some fine celebrity chefs sharing their knowledge, and a host of excellent bands and artists, on hand to keep the ears entertained.

Top of the pile by a mile would have to be chart toppers The Feeling- not least as it took longer than expected for them to finish their new album, meaning a spring tour was postponed until autumn, making this event one of the first times anyone will have seen them since finishing the forthcoming record. Headlining the Main Stage on Saturday, we expect substantial crowds to be in attendance.

Neville Staple is also on the same bill- an out and out ska hero whose work with Fun Boy Three and The Specials only touches on his overall oeuvre. And this is before we come to The Crookes, The Sundowners, and one of our favourite rising outfits, Screaming Maldini (who hail from over the Peaks in Sheffield). Quite the line up, all of this is in addition to the aforementioned expert epicures.

Friday sees the Celebrity Kitchen put to good use, with Andrew Nutter, Alison Seagrave, Justine Forrest and Aazam Ahmad all in attendance. Meanwhile, on Saturday TV regular and Manchester catering maestro Simon Rimmer will also make an appearance. Add to this a plethora of side shows, attractions, games and activities aimed at the entire family and you can understand why we’ll be heading East from the city centre this weekend- and our advise is to join us.
