As part of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival, The Big Indie Wine Fest 2017 will see some of the best independent wine merchants come together to sample wines from top quality producers across the globe.
As well as the traditional, world-famous wine-making regions being represented, there will be bottles on show from some lesser-known, up and coming regions.
The Big Indie Wine Fest is all about celebrating those small wine retailers for whom the personal experience is irreplaceable. The event reflects the ever-changing wine scene and current trends, and gives the unique opportunity to speak to an array of experts in one room.
All the wines will be hand-picked by the retailers themselves who will be on hand to talk customers through their collections of fine wines from around the globe. There will be suitable refuelling opportunities provided by fine food producers including delicious deli platters from Lunya, the multi award-winning Catalonian and Spanish deli, restaurant and bar.
There will be wines from over 15 countries all together, from France to Chile; Australia to Maderia… and even India! Alpine Wines will showcase the Swiss grape, while Myliko will be sampling their unique selection of Hungarian wines.
Featuring over a dozen exciting wine retailers, there will also be masterclasses from the BBC’s Kate Goodman of Reserve Wines, Alpine Wines and Veeno. The free sessions will give an insight into the fine art that is wine tasting, and into some of the fascinating regions from which the wines come.
A relaxed affair, the Big Indie Wine Fest gives wine-lovers the chance to sample and appreciate these fine wines at their own pace. The ticket price buys a tasting glass and then it’s up to the festival-goer to taste their way around the stalls, learning as they go. Wine buffs, enthusiasts, connoisseurs, lovers and quaffers are all welcome. It’s a wonderful opportunity to taste and learn about wine in a fabulous setting, from the best in Manchester.
