Across two weekends in November, Resident Advisor is celebrating its 21st birthday with events in both Manchester and New York.
Manchester has been selected to host a series of specially curated parties, talks, workshops, and Exchanges, with the events taking place on November 11th and 12th at both SOUP and The Loft respectively.
On Saturday 12th, Resident Advisor will host a free beginners DJ workshop at The Loft. Taking place from 10am – 11:30am, it will be run by Manchester’s very own Aletha & Yant, and will have a focus on learning how to DJ with CDJs specifically. There’ll be plenty of opportunities for hands-on practice and learning from some of the city’s greats.
In line with Resident Advisor equity guidelines, priority will be given to people who experience marginalisation and face barriers to access the music industry.
The workshop will then be followed by a day party – midday until 11pm – soundtracked by RA’s favourite strands of electro, minimal and euphoric house and techno.
The Loft will be joined by Radioactive Man, who’s back in town for his first live set in Manchester in three years, plus Bristol trailblazing DJ Danielle, playing a debut back-to-back with a tbc Detroit-via-Berlin artist.
Flying in from Berlin is influential Club Der Visionære and Perlon-affiliate Binh, while rising Bristol selector Eksish, plus a back-to-back from friends Gwenan and Joe Delon, round out the line-up.
