There's a Stranger Things 80s Roller Disco coming to Manchester this July

Just another occasion where you'd better not end up upside down! Geddit?!

The final two episodes of season 4 of Stranger Things dropped last week and it’s safe to say that people have been going a bit mad with it. Not only has Kate Bush climbed out of her cave and reached number 1 in the charts, but people are actually saying that this season of the show is good – definitely a step-up from the rather dodgy season 3 and all of that mall stuff.

One of the most impressive feats of the show is its fantastic soundtrack and score, something which has continued throughout the seasons, culminating in not just Kate Bush’s song getting some serious recognition but also in the finale – Metallica’s ‘Master of Puppets’ – played spectacularity in the Upside Down by Eddie Munson. The first season also introduced me to the genius of Corey Hart’s ‘Sunglasses at Night’ a song which you’ll find yourself singing for months after hearing it.

Taking this love of the show and its music, this July sees Escape to Freight Island’s brand-new rollerskating rink host the ‘SKATEFIRE CLUB‘ a Stranger Things-themed disco featuring the show’s iconic 80s soundtrack while you whizz around on your skates.

Of course, there’s the additional benefit of a fully stocked bar, and all of Freight Island’s excellent food vendors to tackle whilst you’re in your skates. The Skatefire Club Stranger Things Special will take place on Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July.
