The cosmopolitan city of Madrid is known for its cutting edge and Avant-Garde approach to Spanish cuisine. The capital is home to several two and three Michelin starred restaurants who are all headed up by chefs looking to get the most out of the local ingredients from the neighbouring countryside in the most contemporary way.

Meanwhile and by stark contrast is the surrounding towns which are full of history and traditions where old cooking methods are kept alive. Imagine rolling hills, little villages full of adorable neighbourhood restaurants and artisans making some of the best food around.

This central region of Spain is home to the finest selection of cured meats and cheeses as well as some of the country’s most iconic dishes like the world-famous Tortilla Espanola, Churros and Bocadillo de Calamares.

The trendy tapas tradition is most at home on the Sunny streets of Madrid, so expect lots of delicious little bits to share at this tasting evening at La Bandera. Think of delicious boards of Manchego cheeses and Iberian ham, pulled lamb sliders and a steaming bowl of chickpea stew with chorizo and Spanish black pudding.
