Fairly recently renovated and with the cafe being taken over and revamped Bramall Hall is a hidden gem in the Stockport area and perfectly suited for a tidy little afternoon out in the fresh air. The full restoration is now complete with thanks to a £1.6million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Bramall Hall itself is a fantastic example of a Tudor Manor House with origins dating back to the Middle Ages. The Hall offers unique insights into the families and servants who lived and worked here. The garden is the main pull for me, sat in 60 acres of parkland you can if you wish just purchase a ticket for the gardens.
Stroll around the woodland, photograph the house from various angles and enjoy the leisurely life of a wealthy Victorian and leave yourself plenty of time for a hearty lunch in the The Stables Kitchen, bookings can be made for groups which is not a bad idea if there’s a few of you.
Walk wise obviously this counts as very easy, great for the kids and renovation has also meant better facilities for visitors include modern toilets and a platform lift to improve access between levels on the ground floor.

Bramall Hal is now open again after lockdown, but you’ll need to book tickets in advance so that they can manage visitor numbers and follow government guidance on social distancing.
