The Slate Yard and Enterprise cars have come up with a Car Club, which, in its simplest terms is a brilliant mix of cars and Mobikes…

The Slate Yard have partnered with Enterprise who have a large fleet of cars and vans spread across an ever-increasing number of UK cities, including Manchester and Salford, and residents will have access to all of them.

The cars and vans are parked in their own designated bays in the New Bailey area and can be reserved for as little as half an hour, a day, or as long as needed. At the end of your reservation, the vehicle should be returned to the same designated bay it was picked up from, so there is always a parking space waiting for you!

So, with a 3-year membership of the club and a pre-loaded account of £50 drive time (which is the equivalent to 2 days drive time), the main question is – where to go first?

With constant access to your very own car, there are countless amazing attractions not far from New Bailey which could give you a lovely day out, or a fun weekend away.

Chester Zoo
The zoo is a firm fan favourite and one of the best North West attractions on offer. Officially named ‘The best rated zoo in the UK’, Chester Zoo is home to exotic animals from the world over and can keep a full family entertained for hours – you might even get caught on camera as Channel 4 film The Secret Life of Chester Zoo.
With daily animal talks from the experts, play days for the kids and full tours of the massive enclosures, there’s a little something for everyone.

By heading south on the M56, you’ll find yourself right in the middle of the animal kingdom in a cool 54 minutes.

Walker Art Gallery
Renowned for being one of the finest art galleries in Europe, the Walker Art Gallery is home to renaissance masterpieces, Tudor portraits and one of the best collections of Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite art in the country.
With a 130-year history of housing some of the world’s most beautiful art, with many pieces created in the 19th century, you’re in for a culturally stunning day out.

By popping onto the M62, you’ll be there in a mere 55 minutes. Well worth the trip.

Peak District
Best known as being the walking country, the Peak District National Park offers a spectacular variety of scenery and routes to be explored – from steep sided limestone dales to the dramatic high moorlands. There is something for everyone – individuals, families and groups – whether you want a challenging hike or a short stroll. Oh, and keep an eye out for the alpaca farms.

From The Slate Yard you’re only a 34 minute drive away, so it’s great as a spur of the moment day out. Get your walking boots on and enjoy the stunning views.

Lancaster Castle
Known as one of the most historically fascinating castles in the country, Lancaster Castle has witnessed scenes of significant historical, cultural and political impact throughout the centuries. From religious persecutions to the trials of the ‘Lancashire Witches’ and 200 executions for everything from murder to stealing cattle, Lancaster Castle has seen it all and is steeped in a fascinating history.

Slightly further up North, Lancaster Castle is a one hour drive away via the M61, which makes it perfect for a weekend break. Book a room at a quaint Lancastrian B&B and enjoy a picturesque weekend away.

These are just some of the amazing North West attractions that residents can get to with ease using the exclusive Car Club membership. You don’t even have to visit a landmark, you can use your membership to head down south to see the family or just have a quiet weekend off – your car, your rules!
