Well, it may have been a wet Bank Holiday weekend in Manchester but that didn’t dampen the spirits at this year’s Manchester Pride. Sparkle, feathers, and cowboys hats were abundant as people flocked to the event spread through The Village. Our Finest crew were rocking along with the rest by the Gaydar Stage where some of the best acts in pop were performing. Highlights from the 4 day extravaganza were X- Factor winner Alexandra Burke, Blue, Bucks Fizz and of course Manchester’s very own diva Rowetta (who looked amazing in her rainbow coloured micro dress!) Finest’s  ‘Showbiz Shel’ aka Michelle Eagleton caught up with Rowetta backstage to get the lowdown on what she thought of the event.

You can catch Rowetta, ‘Queen of PRIDE’ on Gaydio 88.4 FM every Saturday from 4-6pm.

This year Manchester PRIDE celebrated its milestone birthday of 21 years and it was clear that everyone was having a fabulous time joining in with the festivities.

Manchester’s Finest also managed to get an exclusive acapella performance from one of Manchester’s most exciting new boybands – The Mend. The local lads took to the PRIDE stage on Monday after having just returned from Sweden where they have been recording new tracks. The guys are lovely and as you will see from the video they are damn fine singers too. The Mend are definitely one to watch out for…remember you saw them here first!

Here’s a few images kindly supplied by Selfridges and here’s to next year’s PRIDE!
