Simple Celebrates 10 years of Northern Quarter Success
Nestled in the heart of the Manchester’s Northern Quarter, independently owned Simple on Tib Street has long been a favourite with locals and visitors alike.
Known for its NYC feel, dishing up homemade Northern Quarter pounders, sticky BBQ ribs and delicious cheesecake, it’s only fitting that Simple is going celebrate its tenth year with an American themed party.
On Sunday 25 September, from 12pm until 8pm, Tib Street will be closed and transformed into a real American street fair with rides and games, cheerleaders, tin-can alleys, cotton candy, stalls, popcorn, lindyhopping, and a BBQ with enough food to feed 100 American football teams. The whole thing is inspired by the last scene in the classic movie Grease.
All money collected on the day from the fun fair and games will be donated to North West charites.
Michael Huckerby, owner of Simple comments: “It’s amazing to be celebrating such a milestone birthday; I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since I stumbled across a vacant bar called Pimlico in the Northern Quarter and transformed it into the Simple.
We wouldn’t have reached this point without our amazing staff and loyal customers and I would like to thank them all, and what better way to do it than throwing a massive street party.
It’s going to be a fun packed day and we want as many people to come along as possible to help celebrate this special occasion. All the money raised on the day will be going to not one, but a collection of charities which we’ve supported over the last ten years”
The event is open to the public and donations are encouraged at the gate. A limited number of VIP passes are being issued which include access to Simple, complimentary food, drink and ride passes.
