Last week I headed over to Kosmonaut for a bit of a tasting session checking out their new menu.
The Spring/Summer 2014 food menu, featuring a fresh range of new homemade meals and classic dishes with a creative summer twist went down well amongst my colleagues and peers. We made our way through taster dishes covering all of the new offerings and some of the old favourites.
Devised by the team at Kosmonaut, the Spring/Summer Menu features ingredients sourced from local traders including Diamond Dogs and FlourWaterSalt, the stand out dish for me and the majority of our table was the Black Pepper Ribs (Baby-back, three times cooked, sticky sauce) they don’t come much better than that. Others with a noteable mention were the Buttermilk-Fried Chicken (pictured below) and the Neapolitan Pizza (Anchovies, capers, black olives.)
The selection comes inspired by the foods of Italy, Mexico, Vietnam, Britain and America so it’s fair to say the menu offers something for every taste, there’s also a strong focus on a quality vegetarian offering which althought I’m not vegetarian is good to see happening more and more giving us a welcome alternative.
Drinks wise I went for the Brooklyn summer ale, it’s worth noting it comes in 3/4 pints so maybe not one for the pint lovers.
