Many people will know the name Trafford Lovething, aka Trafford Parsons, from his DJ sets at Funkademia but not many people know the true background of this Manchester icon. From running his own club night, Car Wash UFO, to being involved with the beginning of Manumission to studying fine art at Goldsmiths of London to dancing on stage with Chic at the Hacienda there is one thing that runs through his blood, funk!

This is Trafford’s first Manchester exhibition, it started as a collaborative project with Biotec 3D based in London. Biotec 3D make the programs that convert CT head scans into 3D computer models. Trafford was their artist in residence for their annual trade show in Chicago and the prints are based on CT scans of living people.

Trafford says ‘The process for making these prints comes from my past experiments with DJing and re-mixing music’ He continues ‘Having a body of work and screens from the collaboration with Biotec 3D, I decided to treat the work like music tracks and remix them with glitter and alternative backgrounds’

The exhibition launches on Thursday 10th May from 6pm with a sound track curated by Trafford himself. The exhibition runs until the 26th May 2012
