Feeling the after effects of #thehottestdayoftheyear, I visited to try their Signature Treatment which has been created exclusively for the QMS spa. The treatment combines an advanced double-oxygen technique, including the use of natural soluble collagens so that tone and texture are restored whilst targeting premature ageing of the skin. It also acts as an aid to heal skin that has been over indulged in the sun and whilst my skin wasn’t burnt, it was definitely in need of hydration.

The newly refurbished salon, is bright, cool and pleasingly minimalist. The staff are all friendly and the use of white throughout is clean and soothing.  My therapist greeted me on arrival and we discussed my skin care regime, which she went back to at the end of the session in order to make recommendations.

I was also talked through what I could expect during the facial, particularly the more unique elements such as the QMS Algae Mask which is used half way through the facial. The Algae Mask is thickly applied all over the face leaving only the nostril holes exposed. It’s a unique experience that feels wonderfully cooling and relaxing if a little unusual. Luckily it dries quickly and is carefully peeled away to reveal an impression of your face that enables the therapist to determine your skin’s true needs. It’s fascinating to be able to look in to, touch and feel an impression of your own face and was certainly the stand out feature of the facial.

The facial also includes the use of a dermabrasive gel which exfoliates and peels away dead skin cells to refine pores and improve the overall smoothness of the skin. And later, an activator mask that regenerates damaged cells. It’s the perfect pick me up when the holiday blues are starting to emerge or just to rejuvenate tired, or damaged skin. Whilst the activator mask is on, my therapist performs a neck and shoulder massage, which heightens the overall experience, promoting a deeper form of relaxation that left me feeling serene.

Overall my treatment lasted around an hour and I left glowing and even happy to be out shopping makeup free.

The spa also boasts an interactive Customised Spa Bar that allows guests to customise their own facial or select additional treatments to enhance their experience such as an oxygen boost, which uses pure concentrate oxygen to stimulate the skin’s metabolism and skin cell renewal process, leaving the complexion radiant and revitalised.
