Head for the Hills festival has announced Newcastle indie rock quartet, Maximo Park as the festival’s opening Friday night headliner, in addition to line ups for its three new and up and coming music stages: Smaller Rooms, By The River and T’Other Stage.
Head for the Hills, formerly Ramsbottom Festival, is an award-winning music festival, now in its 7th year, which takes place at the Ramsbottom Cricket Club. In previous years the festival has attracted The Proclaimers, Idlewild, Sinead O’Connor, Roddy Frame, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Public Service Broadcasting, Gaz Coombes and Richard Hawley and last year managed to attract 12,000 visitors.
This year Head for the Hills will feature five live music stages, activities and workshops and an engaging children’s programme. Maximo Park join previously announced artists, The Stranglers, Beth Orton, Manchester band Dutch Uncles and Ska legends, the Neville Staple Band on the festival’s much anticipated 2017 arts and music programme.
The new music stages, will play host to an impressive line-up of new and up and coming bands from across the UK including alt rock quintet Heavy On The Magic fronted by Blueprint’s own Chris Haddon, indie-rockers Stillia, who have recently released their official video for the single ‘Let Me In’ starring comedian Johnny Vegas and popular Kent rock and pop duo Skies.
Head for the Hills lives up to its firmly established reputation for exciting new music, strong headliners and a creative arts programme, all situated in a beautiful, accessible, and family friendly environment within easy reach of Manchester, by heritage steam train for the adventurers.
Early Bird tickets have sold out, and ticket prices now start at £29 for a day ticket and £72 for a weekend ticket, with discounts for children and families, while youngsters under the age of six go free.
A local campsite offering a brilliant Lancashire welcome is included as part of Greater Manchester’s finest festival of arts and music. Pitches are available from £18 per night or from £39 for the whole weekend, larger tent and small camper van tickets are also available from £20 per night and £48 for the whole weekend. The festival campsite is located in Ramsbottom, 20 minutes walk from the Festival site and approximately half a mile from the A56.
