LA born and bred Damon Riddick, known to his friends as ‘DāM-FunK’, describes funk as a way of living – as “a feeling of struggle and staying cool through it all.”
Growing up in Pasadena, the 90’s saw a chance encounter with funk songwriter/producer Leon Sylvers III, propelling Damon into the mid-90’s era of hip-hop, working with rappers such as Mack 10 and MC Eiht.
Since then and working with Stones Throw, DāM-FunK has bashed out a couple of albums including Toeachizown (2009) and Invite the Light (2015) as well as an anthology of earlier productions and a collaboration with Snoop Dog in the guise of 7 Days of Funk (2013).
