Dot To Dot Festival is established as the UK’s Premier Festival for unearthing the hottest new talent around, alongside established acts from across the globe. 2016 marks the Festival’s 11th edition and will see it returning to Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham from the 27-29th May. Dot to Dot’s ever eclectic line-up is set to make this year one of the biggest and best in the festival’s history.
With lots of exciting announcements to follow, including a second headliner, Dot To Dot and DHP Family, in partnership with Fred Perry Subculture, are elated to announce the first wave of artists to play this year’s Festival:
The anthemic MYSTERY JETS will return to co-headline the Dot To Dot stage this year, blasting out infectious tunes and soon to be classics from their new album “Curve Of The Earth”. Since the departure of bassist Kai Fish after the Mystery Jets’ last headline tour in 2012, catching a glimpse of the band live has been rare, the band last hit the Dot To Dot stage when they headlined the festival back in 2010, and with their exciting new material and an arsenal of hits, we can’t wait for their roaring return.
Australian indie giants THE TEMPER TRAP also join the Dot To Dot line-up after spending all of 2015 in the studio working on a highly anticipated third album. The Melbourne boys’ epic mix of guitar-driven indie and falsetto vocals feature through their plethora of hits including the huge track Sweet Disposition.
With his brand of indie hip-hop rock RAT BOY will stir up the Dot To Dot crowd, conveying modern lyrics of a pissed off generation, alongside LAUREN AQUILINA’s beautifully honest ballads and euphoric guitar rock supremoes SUNDARA KARMA. Imaginatively crafted chill-out specialists THE JAPANESE HOUSE will be spellbinding Dot To Dot-goers with dreamy harmonies whilst Yorkshire-based brothers THE SHERLOCKS bring their Courteeners-esque guitar riffs and energetic live performance to the festival, along with Dublin’s hottest indie rockers LITTLE GREEN CARS.
The first wave of artists to be announced also includes the anxious dooming balladry of ARDYN, Carl Barat’s blues rock protégé BARNS COURTNEY, Irish post-punk purveyors BLEEDING HEART PIGEONS, melodic 1960s throwback Rodger “CHAPPO” Chapman and the hauntingly ambient CIGARETTES AFTER SEX. Also appearing at Dot To Dot 2016 are Nottingham boys CROSA ROSA, bringing their psych garage vibe, along with the red hot Leeds ensemble DANCING YEARS. Dot To Dot revellers will also be treated to 80’s style downtown disco from duo EKKAH whist Welsh rockers ESTRONS promise to provide a hard hitting raw performance, as do Britpop brothers THE JACQUES who were signed last summer by The Libertines’ Gary Powell. Powerfully experimental two-piece LEWIS DEL MAR from New York and the R&B tinged Danish indie act LISS also join the bill along with the funktastic NEW CARNIVAL, Australian electro synth collective NORTHEAST PARTY HOUSE and Massachusetts musician STEPHEN KELLOGG supplies some Americana as TREVOR SENSOR tells folk tales of the American dream. And there is still so much more to be announced!
