Due to the overwhelming success of last year’s free #FIRSTANDFOREVER festival, it is back bigger and better for autumn 2012. With seven cities now involved nationwide, Dr. Martens FESTIVAL will kick off with a series of five in-store sessions throughout the season, followed by three headline gigs in music venues across the country in November showcasing some of the best of British Music.
_#FIRSTANDFOREVER FESTIVAL HEADLINE NIGHTS
Following on from our five in-store sessions (Liverpool, Glasgow, Leeds, Cardiff and London), the #FIR- STANDFOREVER festival will take place in three venues across the country; London Barfly, Birmingham Institute and Manchester Ritz. An eclectic mix of the up-and-coming Tribes, established Kids in Glass Houses and the iconic ASH Dr. Martens is excited to present these three incredible bands.
ASH – PLAYING MANCHESTER RITZ NOV 26TH
Formed in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland by Tim Wheeler (vocals and guitar), Mark Hamilton (bass) and Rick McMurray (drums), Ash released their first studio album ‘1977’ and were then joined by Charlotte Hatherley(guitar) for a further 3 studio albums ‘Nu-Clear Sounds’, ‘Free All Angels’ and ‘Meltdown’. Char- lotte left the band in 2006 and the band went on to record and release ‘Twilight of the Innocents’ before launching the innovative A-Z series which saw the band release a single every fortnight for a year. October 2011 saw Ash play some special live shows to mark the release of ‘The Best of Ash’ and Charlotte performed with the band once more for the UK tour.
