Each and every Wednesday at Electrik of Chorlton you can find some of the city’s best and brightest record collectors and crate diggers, who are invited down to play whatever they want in entirety with no mixing, headphones, scratching or beat juggling, it’s strictly just about the music.
Known for being involved with a whole host of ace TV & film, from The Fast Show, Cold Feet and 24 Hour Party People to playing the landlord in the criminally underrated Men Behaving Badly (which is now on Netflix by the way).
He’s also known for being pretty good mates with Johnny Depp, once taking the megastar around Didsbury for a few pints of Shipyard and a couple of bags of Quavers.
John is also known to be a big music fan, with a pretty savvy record collection which some may have heard him spin in the past at Bop Local.
Apparently he’s a bit of a fan of Northern Soul, so you should expect a bit of that from the night, but as is always the case with One Deck at Electrik, you should still expect the unexpected.
Just like most One Deck’s there’s no guarantee of what they’ll play – just sit back and enjoy the music.
Each Wednesday also sees Electrik run their brilliant Pizza Giro night, where you can take advantage of non-stop pizza for 4 hours between 5pm and 9pm for just £5.
