Manchester’s prodigal son returns to Manchester for an intimate show at Gullivers on the 3rd June.
Described as De La Soul having a tussle with Badly Drawn Boy, his brand of folkish hip hop emulates everything from Outkast to Beck, yet his unique fusion of song rapped lyrics tells surprisingly personal tales. Manchester based Gideon looks set to be one of the biggest word of mouth stories in years. With fans ranging from Huw Stephens to Guy Garvey (Elbow) and Russell Brand, it’s not hard to see or hear why Gideon is tipped for big things.
Joining him for this show and on stage is hot new talent and good friend HAZE.
Haze has been said to bring similarities and influences from The Cardigans, Joni Mitchell, Mark Linkous and Corinne Bailey Rae, as people try and describe her individual vocal style. Hotly tipped across BBC Introducing and championed by music blogs such as Breaking More Waves, 2014 is going to be her year.
Gideon joins HAZE for her ‘Picture Frame’ EP tour (https://soundcloud.com/haze27/sets/picture-frame-ep) at the end of May and into early June. The tour, organised by The Music Department, will feature 3 special shows with Gideon Conn (27th May – London/ 3rd June – Manchester/ 4th June – Cardiff) Gideon brings a different but also very individual performance to the tour, meaning this really is a show not to miss.
