In between the endless Netflix binges and cans of Strongbow, this lockdown experience has seen me smash through a long list of Spotify playlists.
It has resulted in me listening to some seriously obscure stuff, including a day of Chief Ebeneezer Obey and a particularly dark evening listening to Cheryl Tweedy/Cole, which ended up mostly being (the brilliant) ‘Let You’ on repeat.
This last week though I’ve been solely concentrating on this: Manila Sounds of the 70s and 80s – a collection of random tunes from the Philippine capital that will have you toe-tapping and dancing in no time.
It includes such classics as Awitin Mo, Isasayaw Ko and Pinoy Ako, both of which are set to be your brand-new favourite songs of the summer.
Sat in your back yard (or your balcony), in the sun with a cider – this playlist is perfect and I guarantee you’ll be listening to it for the rest of lockdown.
