The Manchester weekender is a weekend-long snapshot of the best the cities prolific arts and culture has to offer. Launching that weekend is “All That Is Solid Melts Into Air” the new major exhibition curated by Jeremy Deller at Manchester Art gallery. “All That Is Solid Melts Into Air” takes a personal look at the impact of the Industrial Revolution on British popular culture, and its persisting influence on our lives today.

It seems more than fitting that in celebration of this, the Northern Quarter art & music hub, based in one of the cities many industrial buildings, 2022NQ will be hosting ‘Verdampft’; a special party to mark the exhibition opening.

As Dave Haslam explains on the Facebook event page ”‘Verdampft’ (“melts into air”) takes its name from a word in the German phrase “Alles Ständische und Stehende verdampft” used by Karl Marx and Frederich Engels in the Communist Manifesto (1848).” The full translation of which is the title of Deller’s show.

Everything Everything will be coming to play an exclusive DJ set alongside headliner DJs Dave Haslam and Will Tramp

Raising the roof with be a heady mix of Manchester’s Finest (excuse the pun). Following on from their sell-out show at the Ritz that evening, Everything Everything will be coming to play an exclusive DJ set alongside headliner DJs Dave Haslam (Hacienda/Yellow) and Will Tramp (‘City Life’ DJ of the Year 2012).

The night also boasts a host of surprise live guests and promises, “A genuinely uplifting evening of good times and great music is guaranteed.”
