Join the WORLDWIDE FM crew in Manchester as the radio station travels North to broadcast live from the newly reopened venue, Band on the Wall on Thursday 31st March from 12pm until 7pm.
Providing the soundtrack to your afternoon are some of the stations’ esteemed Manchester based residents who’ve invited some special guests to their shows.
Kicking off the afternoon will be the legendary Mr Scruff who is no stranger to Band on the Wall as he’s been hosting his night there for over 20 years. Manchester icon and queen of the party, DJ Paulette will no doubt be showing us some stellar selections right after a Band on The Wall takeover of the WORLDWIDE airwaves.
Followed by the Murmurs crew who’ve been making waves with their slant on dancefloor shakers from across the globe. Finally, the renowned DJ and label head Pete On The Corner will take us to far flung corners of the world for a celebration of the global underground.
WORLDWIDE is an award-winning community and platform where marginalised voices, alternative perspectives and shared progressive values are brought to the forefront through music and culture.
Whether its programming comes from Palestine or New Orleans, WORLDWIDE tries to give voice to progressive artists and cultural figures who fight inequality in all its forms.
The platform has been showcasing subcultures and stories from across the world since 2016, and regularly broadcast from London, New York, Mumbai, Seoul, Johannesburg, Brussels, Kyoto, Berlin, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Paris, Rio, Detroit, Tokyo, Istanbul, Chicago and beyond.
Its partners, WeTransfer, help power the platform, and their mission statement is rooted in the same ambition as WORLDWIDE FM’s – to explore and tie together the evolving diversity of global creativity.
