A Christmas Movies Quingo Special @ Electrik
Tuesday 17th December
Everyone knows that the best Christmas movie of all time is Gremlins. Followed closely by Lethal Weapon and then the 1996 Father Ted Christmas Special. There are, of course, a LOT more Christmas movies flying around and so the Quingo geezer has made a whole quiz and bingo mash-up around them. Expect questions on Home Alone, Elf and maybe even Love Actually. I should enter this actually – I’ll definitely win it.

Levenshulme Life Drawing
Tuesday 17th December
Are you a pervert? Do you like looking at naked bodies? Are you good with a pencil and paper? If the answer to all of these questions is “Yes” then absolutely DO NOT go to this Life Drawing in Levenshulme this week. They don’t want any perverts there I’m afraid. You’ll just have to go to The Printworks instead like always. If you’re NOT a pervert then head on down and get drawing a real human person. It’s BYOB AND there’s snacks included in the price. What more do you want?!

The Office Christmas Party @ Gorilla
Wednesday 18th December
I could sit here and inject my own bit of fun into the proceedings and fill this description full of The Office quotes. I COULD do that. And I think I will. Thanks. Obviously, all the best people WILL turn up to this quiz, which starts at 7. Drinks at 6. Quiz at 7. Put your thinking cap on, read a book a week and keep a spare pair of shoelaces in your pocket just in case you need to throw a kettle over Gorilla to prove you’ve won. Big Keith is hosting it and there’ll be a buffet of food and a screening of the Xmas Specials.

Snow White’s Privilege @ NIAMOS
Thursday 19th December
Nia’s first theatre production in 25 years is this alternative panto filled with feuding royals, fake news and a prince that’s a bit of a dick. Here’s the blurb…
“In the City of Mancunium a very privileged princess is fed up with her royal duties, with the drudgery of the palace and with her library of dresses. The once charming prince has eyes only for the beasts of the palace and an evil queen lurks in murky undergrounds and threatens to rise out of the cities sewers and back into power.”
Sound good? Get yourself down there next Thursday, Friday or Saturday and enjoy yourself.

Class Act: Kebabs and Comedy @ BAB
Thursday 19th December
When I asked Daisy to write THIS article, I think the exact words I used were ‘try and make something funny out of kebabs’. So armed with this brief she came up with; “This time, have a pitta dignity and leave it to the professionals.”, “Tikka look at the 19th December‘s spicy line-up”, and my favourite; “There’s going to be a shish load of jokes”. Excellent. As will this comedy night be at BAB – it’s FREE too!
