Aumbry Restaurant has released details of its Menu Relief evening in support of Head Chef Mary-Ellen’s appearance on BBC’s Great British Menu. Guests can enjoy Mary-Ellen’s final menu featured on the programme throughout this week. All proceeds will go towards Comic Relief.

Mary-Ellen

Mary-Ellen’s challenge on the Great British Menu was to create a dazzling performance on a plate, food that is both gastronomic and witty; something that will put a smile on everyone’s face.

Arrival on 15th March is at 7pm and with early tickets already sold out, those interested will need to move fast to book their place with the last remaining places auctioned for charity through their Ebay site here.

Aumbry’s Menu Relief menu will be as follows:
Starter: Baked Bean Bath Tub
Fish: Northern Sole
Mains: Milk Fed Goat with Pearl Barley, Cauliflower & Fresh Goat Curds
Dessert: Chamomile Lawn

Mary-Ellen said; “The Great British Menu has become something of an institution over the last few years and we were delighted to be asked to take part in the latest series. Comic Relief is such a fantastic charity and Menu Relief at the restaurant will be a brilliant evening. Hopefully the series will help to raise a lot of money for a very worthy cause.”

Named Manchester’s Restaurant of the Year at last year’s Food and Drink Awards, Aumbry’s intimate dining room occupies a small, converted cottage in the heart of Prestwich village.

Its short menus reflect the abundance of wonderful local produce available throughout the seasons. Aumbry uses a combination of traditional methods inspired by historical cookery with the very latest science and technology to create dishes of deceptive simplicity.
