A new addition to the dedicated vendors at Escape to Freight Island, Plant Grill offer up an impressive selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes, including a banging Spicy Fried Tofu Burger that’ll blow your socks off, and an impressive Celeriac Shawarma with a very delicious lacto-fermented celeriac filling.
Alvarium & Black Leaf
Back with a brand new winter menu, Black Leaf is back with everything from sticky toffee pudding to aubergine steak and chips. This VEGANUARY they’re offering a welcome 20% off food on Deliveroo too!
Doner Summer Vegan
This new, fully vegan Berlin kebab joint turned up at YES early in 2020, and have since then pretty much been serving the vegan (and non-vegan) people of the city with some truly outstanding creations. Inspired by visits to the German capital, these kebabs are authentic, spicy and messy – just like they should be – but without any of the guilt.
GRUB-E-MART
As the creators of the very popular ‘Plant Powered Sundays’, you can always rely on GRUB to fill your desire for top notch vegan food and drinks. During lockdown (and tiers) they’ve been operating their ‘GRUB-E-MART’ online marketplace, where you can either pick up or get delivered a range of vegan-friendly dishes each week.
Bundobust
The classic veggie/vegan option in town and now they’ve even launched their festive menu which is available already. Or you could opt for the vegan combo for two (£25) which features Okra Fries, Bhajis, Bhel Puri, Raghda Pethis and Chole Saag. Bangin. There’s also plenty of booze on offer too!
V Rev Vegan Diner
This lockdown, V Rev have launched their takeaway offering available via Deliveroo and click and collect. You can even customise your burger, adding on extra patties, mac and cheez or baecon for when you need a massive vegan feast.
Little Aladdin
You’d be forgiven for not really knowing what Little Aladdin is all about, but those of you that do – keep stumm. Actually don’t, becuase this place is a vegan dreamland, with some banging curries, wraps and other delights – all set in one of the coolest cafes in the city. They’ll be serving up come rain, sun, tiers, lockdowns or the end of the world.
KRUM Vegan Doughnuts
Why shouldn’t vegans also get to indulge every once in a while!? Well, now you can with the help of KRUM, whose vegan doughnuts are very impressive, very naughty and, thankfully, very tasty.
Wholesome Junkies
After closing their store in Arndale Market, Wholesome Junkies have now launched both takeaways via Deliveroo and Uber Eats and pick-up services from General Store as part of their Scrancoats daily street food pop up.
Dishoom
Whether you fancy a delivery of hot food or want to build it yourself, Dishoom has got you covered. The menu has plenty of vegan options of the popular Bombay comfort food. Plus they’ve recently launched the Vegan Sausage Roll Naan Kit.
I Knead Pizza
The Reddish favourites have extended their pizza shovel all the way into the city centre, setting up shop in a dark kitchen offering up some truly outstanding vegan pizzas of the Neapolitan kind. They have a massive 9 vegan pizzas available – and they’re all bloody brilliant.
Sicilian NQ
Created and bottles in a tiny house on the island of Sicily, these vegan sauces are then shipped over to the Northern Quarter for your pleasure, and are perfect alongside some fresh pasta and one-too-many glasses of Aperol Spritz. Over a million times better than anything you’d find in the supermaket.
Oke Poke
The Northern Quarter’s answer to Hawaiian food, Oke Poke now have delivery available via Deliveroo where you’ll find most of their menu. Vegan top picks include the Buddha Bowl, Tofu Tastic as well as their juices, smoothies (including bowls), infusions and vegan, gluten-free and no refined sugar cakes.
